å°?人 means little person or dwarf. The word for child in Japanese is å?供　(ã?“ã?©ã‚‚　kodomo)Also, å?°è¨¶ is never used in Japanese, fwiw. Maybe in Chinese.

Spelling child as å°?人 seems quite possible as it appears in dictionaries and, particularly in Kyoto, in many public signs. The å?ä¾› spelling does seem to be far more popular in general.
